M90 US cooper backpack large.
US Cooper large is one of our most popular models and it is not very strange when you take a closer look at all the practical functions the backpack has. Here, the backpack is made of the Swedish M90 camouflage.
M90 camouflage on the backpack:
The backpack's camouflage is the Swedish M90 pattern, which is a camouflage system developed by the Swedish military in the 60s. The camouflage is adapted to sink into Swedish terrain.
Backpack front compartment:
The backpack has two compartments in the front where both compartments are closed with zippers. The zippers have double runners to be able to open in both directions at the same time. The upper and smallest of the two compartments are approximately 21 x 14 cm inside.
The lower and slightly larger compartment is about 22 x 26 cm. On the back of this compartment there is a small pocket that is about 13 x 15 cm and four narrow compartments for e.g. pencils or toothbrush.
On the outside of the two front compartments, there are mounting loops for MOLLE. This means that the front of the backpack can be further expanded with modules or used to attach carabiners and the like.
The middle compartment of the backpack:
The middle compartment is a single large compartment located just behind the front compartments. This compartment is about 25 cm wide and about 45 cm high. The compartment also has a large depth that gives the compartment extra space.
On the back of the compartment there is a pocket of about 16 x 15 cm. On the outside of this pocket there are two smaller pockets in mesh fabric where each pocket is about 8 cm x 12 cm.
The middle compartment is closed with a zipper fitted with double runners.
The main compartment of the backpack:
The backpack's by far the largest compartment is what you will find at the back of the compartments. Here you have a compartment of about 35 x 50 cm. The compartment also has a really good depth which means that the main compartment swallows a lot of packing.
On the back wall, the compartment has a small pocket that closes with a zipper. The pocket is almost hidden above the padding towards the back. On the wall towards the middle compartment, the backpack has a large net pocket of about 30 x 30 cm.
The main compartment is equipped with a zipper with double runners. The zipper goes all the way down to the underside of the backpack, which means that the main compartment can be opened completely and the front can be folded up.
Compress the depth of the backpack after packing:
One function that makes US cooper extra functional is that all the compartments are built on top of each other. This means that the gasket in one compartment does not steal space from any of the other compartments. The gasket builds outwards from the backpack as the compartments are filled up. This also means that there is a lot of emptiness when a compartment is not fully packed.
You regulate this very easily with the six compression straps that the backpack has been fitted with. There are two straps on each side and two on the underside of the backpack. When these straps are tightened, the backpack is tightened so that the depth is adjusted after packing.
Back of the backpack towards the back:
When choosing a backpack, it is of course important how much a backpack holds and whether the packing can fit. But if you have a backpack that is loaded with a solid pack, it is of course important that the backpack is ergonomic and comfortable to carry.
US Cooper has a thick padding against the back, with a mesh fabric that helps with ventilation towards the back. The same thick padding can be found on both shoulder straps. There are also two D-rings on the shoulder straps. At the bottom of the shoulder straps there is an extra chest strap with snap.
Then there is also a thick strap at the waist with a snap fastener. All straps can be adjusted in length to give you the best fit.
Backpack with MOLLE:
As we mentioned earlier, the front compartment of the backpack has been fitted with fastening loops for MOLLE systems. Here you can attach modular bags for water bottles, first aid, mobile phone and more. It is also possible to attach other things such as carabiners, ropes or the like.
These fastening loops are also found on both sides of the backpack, which makes it possible to expand the bag with modules and packing also on the side.
This is very practical when you want some packing easily accessible without having to tear off the backpack and open the large compartments.
