Ramones was a punk rock band formed in Queens in 1974 and is considered one of the earliest American punk rock bands. All original members changed their last name to Ramone.
Ramones created a groundbreaking sound that was a very raw sound and inspired by the 1950s and early 1960s rock n roll sound though it was faster and louder. After appearing at the legendary club CBGB, they signed record deals with Sire Records and recorded the debut album Ramones.
