A pants in culotte style. The word culotte describes "something that hangs like a skirt, but is actually pants". The pants have wide waist and waist pockets. The model is straight and has knitted stitches in the waistband.
During the late 1800's, long split skulls developed for riding, so that women could ride a horse with a man's saddle instead of riding the saddle. Later, skirts were divided to give women greater freedom to do other activities such as gardening, cleaning and cycling etc.
