The Godfather is a book written by Mario Puzo and is about a fictional mafia family. The family lived in Sicily in the town of Corleone and was originally named Andolini.
The whole family except the youngest son, Vito, was murdered in 1901. Vito fled to New York and there he named Corleone after his birthplace.
