Rock Club CBGB & OMFUG

In 1973, a club was formed on Bowery Street in central New York. The club got the name CBGB because the club was meant to play the music styles Country (C), Bluesgrass (BG) and Blues (B). However, the club instead became a forum for American punk and New Wave. The club attracted bands like The Ramones, Blondie, Talking Heads, Misfits, Joan Jett, The Cramps and more.

Thus, the club began to play music styles that did not fall into the categories that the club intended to play at the founding. Therefore, the name was added to "& OMFUG", which stands for "and other music for uplifting gormandizers".

Gormandizers mean gourmands, and are someone who enjoys good food. In this context, it can instead be interpreted as a music lover.

During the 90s, the club offered bands such as Sum 41, Korn, Green Day and Guns n Roses and Duff McKagan from the latter band acted as ambassador for the club.

T-shirts and other merchandise from CBGB & OMFUG

Many people believe that the punk rock was born at the club CBGB and since The Ramones is considered one of the absolute first punk rock bands to break through, it is probably not far from the truth. The Ramones had many of their earliest major gigs at the CBGB. In total, The Ramones played on CBGB over 70 times.

The club is therefore of great importance in the history of punk rock and has been given a truly iconic status.

It therefore makes us very proud to be able to supply a wide range of merchandise from CBGB & OMFUG. All merchandise is official merchandise and here you will find from T-shirts, hoodies, longsleeves, bags, mugs and mousepads.
